D. Rivers has been creating sophisticated artwork since his early teens. Oil paint has captivated him from that time to present. His artistic endeavors are a journey and not a destination. The art life has helped him experience many different cultural, sociological and economic points of view. Art, painting and drawing in particular, have enriched his life and lifted him from the constraints of his upbringing in a small southern town.
